Pastor Henry Ssevviiri from Uganda

It is has been our pure joy to host Pastor Henry Ssevviiri in our home. He was with us from Nov 18-23 and then again Dec 8-13. Pastor Henry is from Jinja, Uganda where he pastors Life Giving Streams of Living Water Tabernacle Church. We have worked with Pastor Henry through Ken Galyean of "Call to Africa" and some others.

Pastor Henry has been wonderful. He has partcipated in all kinds of meetings raising awareness of the needs in Uganda, to preaching, to handing our hot dogs at a community outreach event in the Woodlands in Citronelle, to helping us sell our Kids' necklaces at HairRageous on Hill Crest Road in Mobile. He has helped me on a building project at the barn at Fair Havens Farm. He helped me prepare Christmas shoe boxes to be delivered to our Kids in Jinja. He has endured extremely cold weather (30-40degree nights) - I believe he actually thought he was going to freeze to death at one point. But praise the Lord for Mobile weather - he actually broke a sweat this week. He has been a true sport and just a lot of fun as well as a great spiritual inspiration to me and Darlene.

This is a man to get to know.
I am thankful he has blessed us in our home.

The kids singing praises to the Lord

These are our kids at Ms Agnes Orphanage. I had a great visit with them in October. They sing about how wonderful and powerful is the your Name oh Lord. They believe what they sing.

Fair Havens goes to Africa

On May 22,2007 Darlene and I along with six other friends left for Uganda, Africa to join about 35 others from around the country to do a medical and evangelical mission in an area around Jinja. While we were there we particapated in a number of activities.

  • We assisted doctors and dentists minister to over 2,000 patients.

  • We gave away over 300 pairs of glasses

  • We continued working on a fish farming project that was begun on January 2007.

  • Through door to door evangelism we led about 25 folks to the Lord.

  • Our ladies participated in a ladies conference. Over 150 ladies atttended.

  • We distributed food to 80 families in a refugee camp.

  • We distributed hygiene products to many folks

  • We found and adopted an orphanage

God blessed us incredibly and we all are changed by this mission.

Agnes Children's Care

These kids and many more have been orphaned by HIV AIDS. They live
in this orphanage in Uganda. Mrs. Agnes takes care of about 50 children here. Darlene and I and several others visited here in May and we were blessed to tears as these children expressed their love for God.
The government has stopped helping support this orphanage.
So these kids support themselves by hand making necklaces made from strips of magazine pages. They are very beautiful and very colorful.
Fair Havens is going to distribute them for the kids. If you would like to help, please write to me at winterrb7@myway.com. The necklaces are currently the only means of support for these kids. Will you help?
